America the Beautiful Quarters Coming April 19, 2010

Hot Springs QuarterAfter many months of waiting, the first coin in the new America the Beautiful Quarters coin series is finally scheduled for release next month.

The new twelve year series will feature depictions or representations of National Parks or National Sites in each of the 50 States, 5 US Territories, and the District of Columbia. There will be five coins release each year from 2010 to 2020 with one final design released in 2021.

To date, the designs for 2010 America the Beautiful Quarter have still not been released. The US Mint will finally unveil them on March 24, 2010 at a ceremony held in Washington DC at the Newseum. The following sites will be depicted on the five different quarters:

  • Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas
  • Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming
  • Yosemite National Park in California
  • Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona
  • Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon

The first quarter featuring Hot Springs is expected to be released on April 19, 2010. This is the date the US Mint has set for the release of the first America the Beautiful Quarter products. There will be 100-coin bags, 1000-coin bags, and a two roll set.

The official circulation release and ceremony should also be held around the same date. In most cases, the product release date corresponds with the circulation release date.
